We welcome our first recruits of the year!
We started the new year with a fresh group of student officers joining the ranks!
The cohort of 20 PCDA officers joined us in early January to begin their classroom training at HQ, Penrith. They will remain based here for the next 21 weeks where they will complete exams, essays and a 2 week PST (Personal Safety Training) and First aid course.
We'd like to wish our new recruits the best of luck with their future careers and hope to hear more of their training journey as the progress over the next thee years!

Also joining us...
In addition to the PCDA officers joining us this month we welcomed four Professional Policing Degree Graduate PPD students (formerly known as the Pre-Join entry route).
These officers have previously already obtained their Professional Policing degree - the degree which PCDA students work towards on their course so undertake a more focussed training programme initially before starting their role as a new officer.
This entry route is closed now but more information can be found here.

Happy Birthday Edna!
Edna Clayton, a resident of Hector House care home in Glasgow is 101 today (31st Jan). As she spent her 100th birthday alone at home last year, a national appeal was launched via the media, requesting cards to be sent to Edna. This is E21D's (a group of DHEP students) birthday message and subsequently sent to The Birthday Girl c/o Hector House. We hope it will make her smile!
