We are delighted to announce that the Cumberland Threshold Guidance has been updated to reflect legislative changes and revised language. The updated guidance has now been published and can be accessed on the CSCP website here.
As part of national legislative developments, changes relating to Family First Partnership Programme (FFPP) have been introduced. In response, we undertook a review of the current Threshold Guidance to ensure that it reflected those changes and aligned with the evolving approach to supporting children, young people, and their families.
At this stage, the revisions focused primarily on updating language and clarifying expectations within the document. These amendments aim to improve consistency, strengthen understanding across the partnership, and ensure that professionals are better supported in making appropriate and timely referrals to Children’s Services.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all partners who have contributed their time, expertise, and feedback throughout this process. Your input has been invaluable in shaping this updated version.
A fully reviewed and amended version of the document will follow in April 2027.
Between now and April 2027, we are committed to continuing to work collaboratively across the partnership. Our shared ambition is to develop a Threshold Guidance document that is:
- Clear and easy to understand
- Reflective of current legislation and best practice
- Supportive of professionals in identifying need
- Effective in guiding access to the right services for children and their families
We will be seeking further feedback and engagement opportunities over the coming months and very much welcome your continued involvement.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch with ourselves, by emailing CSCP@cumbria.gov.uk.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to improving outcomes for children and families across Cumberland.
