A Huge Thank you to John Sanderson
I am enormously grateful for the opportunity to serve as Interim Director of the WELL Project.
Joining at a challenging time, I felt warmly welcomed by Lucy, Vicky, Amanda and Beth, whose support made all the difference. It has been a privilege to work alongside so many dedicated professionals, from school leaders, teachers, and educational experts, each bringing passion and expertise to our shared mission.
I wish everyone continued success and, given the determination to evolve and extend the project beyond 2027, I am confident that WELL's positive impact on children’s lives will continue to grow ever stronger. - John Sanderson
A huge thank you to John for his commitment and support to the WELL Project and our schools over the past few months. We wish him all the best and are extremely grateful for his contributions as Interim Director.

A Warm Welcome to John Shannon
John Shannon is delighted to be joining WELL as the Project Director, to work alongside and support leaders to make a difference to the lives of children in Allerdale and Copeland.
Prior to joining WELL, John taught in five schools, led three of them and undertaken executive headships and senior trust roles.
He believes that schools should be at the heart of their community, is passionate about empowering staff to use research-driven approaches to deliver social justice and has been fortunate to work with and alongside primary and secondary schools.
We are excited and pleased to welcome John to the WELL team, as Project Director going forward.
