Carers Week 2026: 'Building Carer Friendly Communities'
Carers Week 2026 is just around the corner, running from the 8th - 14th June, and this year’s theme — “Building Carer Friendly Communities”.
Carers Week is all about coming together to uplift and champion the UK’s 5.8 million unpaid carers. The campaign, proudly supported by TSB Bank, shines a bright spotlight on the importance of recognising carers and making sure they feel valued, supported and never alone.
Carers UK and partner charities are inviting people and organisations across the country to share success stories, spark conversations and help build communities where carers feel understood, appreciated and empowered. It’s a chance for all of us to rally together and create environments where carers’ wellbeing, relationships and opportunities can truly thrive.
Find out further information about Carers Week 2026 and how you can get involved by clicking the link to the Carers UK website here.

Personalised Safety Planning Toolkit - Free Roadshow Launch
A new project is set to transform the way safety plans support people experiencing self-harm or suicidal thoughts.
Many individuals have shared that current plans can feel too generic or impersonal, so this study from Cumbria Northumberland Tyne & Wear (CNTW) aims to change that by co‑producing a more meaningful and personalised safety planning toolkit. The work brings together people with lived experience alongside frontline staff from mental health, primary care, and community services. As part of this initiative, CNTW are pleased to announce the launch of Jay’s Personalised Safety Planning Toolkit, which will be introduced through a series of in‑person roadshow events.
These sessions are open to anyone with an interest in safety planning - practitioners from across health and social care, informal supporters and people with lived experience. The events are free to attend, but booking is required.
