HealthWatch: Safeguarding Adults Survey for Professionals
Healthwatch Westmorland & Furness and Healthwatch Cumberland are working with Westmorland and Furness Council, Cumberland Council and Cumbria Safeguarding Adults Board on a project to review the involvement of people within the safeguarding process to increase understanding, choice, and control so that the quality of life, wellbeing, and safety of the individual is improved.
Healthwatch know safeguarding processes are more successful when they involve people as fully as possible, engaging with people to increase understanding, choice, and control so that the quality of life, wellbeing, and safety of the individual is improved. The Safeguarding Adults Project looks at:
- The experience of professionals involved
- The experience of the individual who has been through the safeguarding process
- The experience of the carer (where applicable)
|
As professionals whose duties include safeguarding - through agencies represented at the Safeguarding Board and the wider health and social care system - Healthwatch value your participation through an online survey to identify what’s working well, what could be improved and any barriers to genuine inclusion.
The survey link is here or you can scan the QR code.
The survey will be sent to:
- Police
- Social workers
- Care providers
- Safeguarding staff Paramedics
- NHS staff (front line practitioners)
- Probation services
- Housing providers
- Local authorities
- Independent advocates
- Fire service
Findings will be presented through a report which will detail analysis of intelligence gathered, highlight good practice and provide recommendations to the Safeguarding Adults Board and wider health and social care system. The report has sections relevant to each local authority area. The project report will be presented to Cumbria Safeguarding Board, Cumberland Health and Wellbeing Board and Westmorland and Furness Health and Wellbeing Board and Integrated Care Partnerships, as well as Healthwatch England and the Care Quality Commission.
