WOW! What a start to the year…
As we are now halfway through the academic year, it would be a good time to reflect on some of the brilliant things our schools have achieved so far:
- All 118 WELL Schools signed the participation commitment form to continue participation in WELL this year.
- Members of your teams have worked with ERA, national experts Professor Jonathan Sharples (EEF), Sally Franklin (MITA), Marc Rowland (Unity RS), Louise Quinn (Shotton Hall RS), the EBE team (GTT), Andy Taylor (RR) and many more.
- 44 schools are now participating in the Disadvantaged Provision Project with Marc Rowland and ERA, focusing on effective pupil premium strategies and attend regular collaborative network meetings.
- Schools participating in WELL have developed and continue to sophisticate their implementation plans for their chosen key priority. Every email reply to Dale’s feedback on plans has been kind, positive and energising.
- There has been excellent attendance at our hybrid professional development opportunities.
- All Secondary schools are using a consistent approach of assessing Reading in Key Stage 3 through NGRT, with great attendance at the training provided.
- 26 Primary schools are participating in the GL Assessments NGMT trial, enabling WELL to explore the use of standardised Maths assessments going forward.
- 18 WELL Schools have joined the 'Maximising the Impact of TAs' (MITA) project with Sally Franklin, with commitments from Senior Leaders and over 200 TAs. Watch this space for more details on how to get involved with phase 2 of this work!
- A Spring Term ELSA cohort starts this week, a WELL Summer Term ELSA cohort is being planned. More information on this can be found in the ELSA section.
- Cumbrian Award is now endorsed by University of Cumbria and participation has grown by 11 WELL schools this academic year.
And so much more!
