Today is the final day of National Safeguarding Adults Week 2024. To effectively safeguard adults and establish safer cultures, it is important for organisations and individuals to be engaged in a process of continual learning and development.
Today organisations and individuals are encouraged to to reflect on their practice. What have been the successes and the challenges in safeguarding adults? What work is there stil to do and how can we continue to extend our learning?

Bias, unconscious bias and malignant alienation
Friday 22nd November 2024, 12:00 - 1pm, via Microsoft Teams
During National Safeguarding Adults Week, Phillip Battista, Cumbria Northumberland Tyne & Wear Trust will deliver a lunch & learn session to highlight bias, unconscious bias and malignant alienation.
The virtual lunch & learn session taking place today will commence at 12noon - 1pm, and aims to provide an understanding of the term, Malignant Alienation and support participants to reflect and consider the impact on professional and client/patient relationship, that can lead to conscious and unconscious bias for practice.

CSAB Learning Zone
Cumbria Safeguarding Adults Board (CSAB) is committed to a culture of learning and improvement. Central to effective adult safeguarding is a competent workforce and we recognise that learning can take many forms. The Learning Zone is a dedicated area for organisations and practitioners designed to enhance best practice for training and ensure staff access training relevant to their role in safeguarding adults at risk of abuse or neglect.
The "Learning Zone" of the website contains Quick Guides, webinars and recordings from lunch & learn sessions which can be used for CPD purposes.
