Cumbrian Award
This academic year has seen some exciting developments for the Cumbrian Award...
Dale is providing a briefing for interested schools to find out more about these developments and what the award is.
You can find out how it can benefit your pupils' personal development, confidence and sense of belonging. This is an opportunity to understand how the award can work in your school and can support and enrich your existing curriculum without causing additional workload.
This session will be held on Tuesday 30th January 15:35 - 16:05, Online.
Email WELL@cumberland.gov.uk for the link to the briefing and come join us!

Positive Report Findings...
We have received the 2022-23 formative evaluation of WELL from the University of Nottingham.
The evaluation outcomes are based on observations, stakeholder interviews, case studies, action research, data analysis and the 101 schools who completed the evaluation survey last Summer. Thank you to everyone that has contributed to this important process. Overall, it is a very positive evaluation. The WELL team will build on the strengths and act on the helpful recommendations to support you further.

Thank you to the University of Nottingham team for their professionalism and knowledge creating this detailed report. Unfortunately for us, Georgina Hudson has now left the evaluation team to take up a new role. Georgina did a fantastic job, and we wish her all the best for the future.
We would like to welcome and introduce Natalia Yakavets, Assistant Professor in Educational Leadership and Management at the School of Education, University of Nottingham, to the evaluation team. Natalia brings skills and experience that will be a real asset to our ambitions as a project.
Previously, Natalia was Senior Research Associate in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. She holds a PhD in educational leadership and management from The Open University, UK. Click here to get to know a bit more about Natalia...

We all understand the challenges we face in terms of recruitment and retention in our schools, if you have not already booked places for your school staff to this high quality conference, we strongly recommend it.
The keynotes and workshops will serve to inspire and remind us why we do the jobs we do and how we make such a difference to the lives of children and young people. In next week's WOW we will provide a full programme outline.
So that your school does not miss out before the conference fills, you can book places with the School Development Team.

Grant Funding Progress
Over £150,000 of grants have now been paid directly to our schools, after their implementation plans have been approved and all grant conditions fulfilled.
We are continuing the process of reviewing first submission and updated implementation plans. Thank you to so many head teachers and implementation team members who have responded positively and valued the feedback given on their implementation plans.
If you haven't already, your school will receive feedback and communication about progressing your universal grant before the end of January.
