Join Muncaster Castle for the spookiest time of the year!
Halloween at Muncaster 2023 is bigger and better than ever, and with 2 festivals there is something for everyone!
The Halloween Family Festival is taking place from Saturday 21 – Sunday 29 October and is suitable for all ages with. You can explore the spooky maze and be taken on the Frankenstein Castle Tour.
Scarecaster is Muncaster's new and scarier night festival with The Vanishing, an immersive poltergeist experience - not for the faint hearted. The event will be taking place from 5pm – 11pm on the following dates: 20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th October
Don’t forget, Muncaster is also hosting a costume competition over Halloween! To enter, share a photo on social media of your costume during your visit and include the hashtag #muncasterhalloweenfestival and @muncastercastle to enter. Prizes will be given for the following categories: Best Solo Adult, Best Solo Child, Best Group & Best Duo costumes.

 Children's special in our new café, which is only £5 per child!
Sandwich of your choice on brown or white bread, pombears, a carton of either orange or apple juice and a homemade harvest festival cupcake.

Walby Farm Park Pumpkin Picking

October 2023 Day Tickets include a FREE Pumpkin for every Child Entry only. Additional Pumpkin tickets can be added to your basket before checkout for Under 1s & Child Annual Pass holders (& any other Additional Pumpkins required) to include their pumpkin.

Pumpkin Picking After Dark
From 20 October to 27 October, 6.30pm -9pm, Walby farm park will be illuminating their Pumpkin Patch for you to pick your own pumpkins after dark.
Enjoy the picking the perfect pumpkin while enjoying the live music, food and a bar.
So, grab your wellies, and book your date night now as tickets are very limited.

Tullie House – Family Ghost Tours
On Saturday 28 October, Tullie House are hosting family ghost tours. The tours are suitable for children aged 5 years old and over.
Join professional story teller, Jo Mills, as she takes you on a guided tour around the unseen parts of the museum. Find out what stories the building has to tell and what happens in the tunnels at Tulle!
Tickets are £6 per person.
Time slots for the tour are: 11am -11.45am, 12.15pm - 1pm, 2pm - 2.45pm, and 3.15pm - 4pm

A new pumpkin patch has now opened it's doors

Stephney Farm in Calderbridge, near Seascale, decided to create a pick-your-own pumpkin patch as a new venture outside of their usual sheep and beef farming.
Pumpkin sessions has officially begun at Stephney Farm, and it will continue to run on weekends throughout October and throughout the half term week. Opening dates are:

Saturday 21 October – Sunday 29 October.
Tickets cost £3.50 for each person aged over two years old. Time slots must be booked in advance as spaces are limited.
There's more than just pumpkin picking! Refreshments will be available throughout your visit. Also, you can meet some of the farm animals, get your face painted and buy some Halloween themed toys in the gift shop.
Carlisle City Ghost Tour
Take a walking tour through Carlisle’s dark past on a Family Carlisle City Ghost Tour this Halloween. Discover tales of murder, executions and ghostly apparitions in the heart of our great border city.

Witches and Warlocks Crafts Workshop

Step away from just carving pumpkins this Halloween and join The Beacon’s Halloween craft session.

Eerie Cumbria Spooky Stories

Enjoy and evening of spooky stories to get you in the Halloween mood, with a glass of fizz. The event is suitable for ages 14 years and older. Under 16-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult.
