We’ve heard from you that consistent and effective relationship management is important. It gives you an opportunity to build trusted relationships with your local assessment team, have open conversations about risk and improvement, and develop a good understanding of our regulatory approach.
We’d previously made some changes to elements of our relationship management approach that haven’t always met your needs. As part of a wider review to improve how we work we’re looking at options for the right approach to relationship management.
We had already started this approach with some NHS trusts in the northwest of England. We are now developing and evaluating this so that we can determine how best to gradually pilot this across all sectors and all parts of the country, starting with NHS trusts.
This approach will include a named provider oversight lead as your point of contact and regular engagement meetings. There will be an agreed agenda for each meeting, and we’ll develop and pilot this approach with you.
We’re currently looking at timeframes for starting and rolling out the pilot and we’ll update you during September.
We will also soon be working with other sectors to co-design the right approach for them, building on what we learn from this pilot. We will share opportunities for you to get involved with that work.
All throughout this process we will be clear how your feedback has influenced our decisions and why we’ve decided what we have.
