CQC publishes first local authority assessment reports
The first of CQC’s local authority assessment reports have published today.
These are for Hertfordshire County Council, London Borough of Hounslow and West Berkshire Council – all are rated good.
Our new local authority assessments began in December 2023 and allow us to provide independent assurance to people of their quality of care in their area.
A decade on since the Care Act received Royal Assent, the LGA’s new publication - Care Act: 10 years on from Royal Assent – reflects on what has been achieved, the challenges facing the sector, and what more is needed to fully deliver on the ambitions of the legislation. The report includes a range of articles by senior and expert colleagues, including people who draw on social care and members of the care workforce.
The report also includes an article by James Bullion CBE: Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care and Integrated Care, Care Quality Commission. https://www.local.gov.uk/jamesbullion
