In our new strategy we set out a core ambition to assess local systems so we can provide independent assurance to the public of the quality of care in their area.
The new Health and Care Bill will give CQC new powers to assess local authorities on the delivery of their social care duties, and, following the recent amendment, to have oversight of Integrated Care Systems (ICSs).
We've shared some early thinking on how we'll deliver this work and would like your feedback through our digital engagement platform to help further develop our approach (NOTE you'll need to sign up / log in to access this).
In a new video CQC's Head of Strategy Matt Tait updates on our early thinking around our approach to ICS assessment and Local Authority assurance.
The video covers what we're considering including in these approaches and how we'll be developing our work in this area.
In a new blog, Rosie Benneyworth, Chief Inspector of Primary Medical Services and integrated careĀ and Kate Terroni, Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care, set out how they hope to use new powers in the Health and Care Bill to look at how the care provided in a local system is improving outcomes for people and reducing inequalities.
We are currently looking at improving the ways providers register with us and send us notifications.
We'd like your help as someone working for a health or social care provider.
This might be a quick conversation, or a more in depth interview about you and your work in relation to CQC.
Anyone can sign up (we run research with different providers all the time). We would like to speak to you whether you are new or experienced in your role.
Please sign up if you are willing for us to contact you.
Research sessions are never more than an hour. We are currently running all our research online or over the phone.
There are lots of opportunities to help us coproduce how we'll implement our strategy. If you would like to get involved with this work, sign up to our digital engagement platform and look out for more information in our bulletins.
You can also feedback your thoughts on our new strategy right now.
