 New guidance has been published from the Primary Eyecare Sector’s Domiciliary Eyecare Committee. This guidance covers how they will meet the needs of people who are unable to leave home unaided owing to physical or mental illness or disability are potentially at higher risk of eye disease and vision problems than the general population.

 Researchers from the University of East Anglia have received funding from National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), to run their study FluCare, which seeks to improve flu vaccination rates in care home staff.
The researchers want to see if offering flu vaccination clinics in the care home, along with financial incentives, can increase uptake. They’d like residential and nursing homes to take part in a small-scale study this flu-season, then a large trial in the 2022 flu season.
To join this study you’ll need to be: a home for people over the age of 65, employ more than 10 staff and located in London, Norfolk or Leicestershire/Rutland.
