Next week our Because we all care campaign will encourage carers to tell us about the care they observe, positive or negative, across care homes, hospitals or in the home.
About the Campaign: On the 8 July, in partnership with the Healthwatch network, CQC launched ‘Because we all care’. The campaign aims to encourage people using NHS and social care to give feedback on their experiences, to help improve services for everyone
Can you support and promote the next phase of the campaign? In the next day or two, the toolkit on the Because we all care campaign homepage will be updated for you to use. We hope to build on the success of the campaign in 2021 with support of our partners.
CQC is continuing to work with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), local authorities and individual care providers to provide assurance of safe and high-quality care in designated settings, which are part of a scheme to allow people with a COVID-positive test result to be discharged safely from hospitals.This is to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in care homes and will allow for a focus on the care that people who have contracted COVID-19 need.

Kate Terroni, Chief Inspector for Adult Social Care, has written an update following the publication of the second part of Professor Glynis Murphy’s independent review of our regulation of Whorlton Hall.
Kate's blog looks at the further five recommendations Professor Murphy makes in the second part of the review.
Kate says:"We’re calling for increased specialist community care to ensure that people get the right support, by suitably trained professionals, to enable them to lead fulfilling lives and not end up in a crisis being placed too far from their own home, not having access to care to enable them to get better.
"We’re also calling for more oversight — this is desperately needed. We want there to be a named national specialist commissioner for complex care — and we want to see a Minister take ownership of this area."

Our COVID-19 Insight reports highlight the coronavirus-related pressures faced by the services we regulate.
