My diabetes, my care: Community diabetes care review

At the beginning of this month we published a report exploring the quality of care for people with diabetes in England. My diabetes, my care highlights that despite a mostly good picture of care, the provision of care and support to help people successfully self-manage their condition is not always flexible and responsive enough to meet individual needs.

Confidential personal information

Following a public consultation earlier this year, we have published an updated version of our code of practice on confidential personal information. The code of practice explains how we sometimes need to use our statutory powers to look at people’s information during inspections and provides assurance that the information will be handled safely.

Dental operational protocol

As mentioned in our Deputy Chief Inspector’s column, earlier this month we began piloting a new dental operational protocol which has been developed by CQC, NHS England, the General Dental Council, and with the support of the NHS Business Services Authority. CQC Next Phase development

We are continuing to develop how we will approach our next phase of inspections next year. Over the last month we held a GP and dental co-production group which brought together people who use services, providers and other stakeholders to help inform those developments, particularly around the key lines of enquiry we use on inspections. We will update everyone on next steps with our developments later this year.
