We're inspecting James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 16 August.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent health and adult social care regulator. Our job is to check whether hospitals, care homes, GPs, dentists and services in your home are meeting national standards.

CQC's last inspection

James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is currently rated as good.

This month our inspectors will be undertaking a focused follow-up inspection, which means that it will look at areas of concern identified during our last inspection in August 2015. The trust was rated as Good overall however; the provider rating for safe was requires improvement. Two core services, surgery and end of life care, were rated as requires improvement.

Therefore we will be re-inspecting surgery and end of life care services and also the safe domain across five services - medicine, surgery, maternity and gynaecology, services for children and young people and end of life care.

You can read the report from our last inspection.

The feedback people gave us about their experiences of care before the last inspection was important and helped us to decide what to look at during our inspection.
