As part of Coventry City Council's Skills Strategy, Coventry City Council is hosting three Skills Action Groups and is inviting local businesses to take part. The first two events have already taken place, but it's not too late to sign up for the financial services session for Friday 26 June at 10am.
Creative businesses in the West Midlands can now apply to West Midlands Create Growth, a six‑month, fully funded programme designed to help you strengthen your strategy, build momentum and prepare for investment.
The programme offers two tailored routes depending on your stage of development. Participants will benefit from expert‑led workshops, 1:1 coaching or mentoring, and opportunities to develop their pitch and connect with investors.
Virtual drop‑ins are running throughout the application window to help you understand which route is right for you.
Delivered by Creative UK and funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority, applications close at midday on Monday 6 July.

Coventry will be transformed into a city of chess this summer as the British Chess Championships arrive at the University of Warwick.
From 1-9 August, more than 1,000 chess players from across the UK will descend on Coventry, bringing together Britain’s top grandmasters, rising stars and brilliant young prodigies for nine days of intense competition and celebration of the game.
