Welcome to the second Cycle Coventry newsletter of 2026, bringing you updates on training sessions and other events to help you on your cycling journey. You can learn to fix, learn to ride, come to a family event, or just get some peace of mind with a free cycle safety check.
Our Learn to Fix programme returns for 2026, with an extra venue and sessions on Saturdays due to popular demand.
Each session is tailored to a different aspect of bike maintenance.
- Bike Kitchen - general maintenance
- Tyres and punctures
- Brakes
- Gears and chains
If letting someone else have a go at fixing is more your thing or you need a second opinion, our free doctor bike service could be what you need. Minor repairs and adjustments are carried out on the spot, or help and advice is given if you need to take the repair to a bike shop.
If you or someone you know has never ridden a bike, it’s not too late to learn. Our popular adult learn-to-ride programme has got people riding even later in life. Sessions take place from our oasis of calm at the Canal Basin, and are suitable for beginners, improvers, or those who can already ride but want a gentle introduction to on-road riding on quiet streets and cycle tracks. Training currently takes place on Saturday mornings, in addition to our drop-in beginner sessions on Fridays at Moat House.
Why not come to our family cycling festival at Caludon Castle Park, where the whole family can learn to ride together? More details are below.
Also, we are still providing drop-in sessions on Tuesday afternoons at Xcel, while bookable events will become available soon. Stay subscribed to find out more.
British Cycling and Coventry City Council will be celebrating the completion of Binley Cycleway with a family cycling festival in Caludon Castle Park. Everyone in the family can learn how to ride a bike, and there will also be opportunities for you to follow a guided ride along parts of the Binley Cycleway, plus much more!
