It's the most wonderful time of the year... for cycling!

Our partners British Cycling are hosting a family cycling drop-in session at the Canal Basin on 29 December. If someone in your family is getting a new bike for Christmas, and you want an opportunity to ride together, why not come on down to the canal basin for a fun, social, family-friendly session? Our community coach will help you or your family learn to ride or improve their cycling skills.

- Ages: 10+, all U16's must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition to the family session above, British Cycling will also be leading a group ride along the canal towpath on 29 December. This provides a family-friendly, relaxed cycling experience along the flat, traffic-free route.

 Someone learning to ride a bike in a sports centre
Don’t forget that adult drop-in cycling sessions continue at Moat House until 19 December, every Friday at the slightly revised time of 12.15pm to 1.15pm. You do not need to bring your own bike as these sessions are aimed at complete novices (16+). Coaching provided by British Cycling in partnership with CV Life and Coventry City Council.

Get little one ready for their new bike with some cycle lessons at Xcel Centre, every Tuesday until 16 December. All bikes and equipment supplied as part of the £1 event fee. Coaching provided by British Cycling in partnership with CV Life and Coventry City Council.

If you’re heading into the city centre to enjoy the Christmas Market, or to just pick up a last-minute gift or decorations, why not cycle? Plenty of cycle parking is available in the city centre, just a few minutes’ walk from the heart of the action. No queuing, no waiting. Just ride!
