We have updated all of our public information which identifies that leaflets can be made available in 6 main languages used in Coventry – Polish, Punjabi, Urdu, Arabic, Romanian and Tigrinya.
We have also produced our safeguarding posters in these languages alongside specific information about safeguarding in Arabic as this is one of the most requested languages for translation and more recently our Direct Payments leaflets into Punjabi, Urdu, Arabic and Gujarati.
New Carer Group - Care Home Support Group
The Carers Trust Heart of England - have recently set up a new carer peer support group, for carers, whose loved one has moved into a care home or considering a move to a care home.
The group is geared towards supporting people whose caring role has changed (or about to change) as their loved one moves into a care home - a time of adjustment and transition for everyone involved. The group is geared at supporting both the emotional impact of this and the practical elements and further support can be offered from the Carers Trust following on from this.
It is a relatively new group which will be hosted in different care homes across the city as the group progresses, and not just intended to those living in the host home. Please find attached the leaflet.
Please share with any carers / family members who might benefit from this support.
Care Home Support Group information
First Wednesday of every month at 1:30pm to 3pm, Victoria Mews Care Home, CV3 2DF.

New opportunities through My Time project
As our My Time project grows in Coventry, we're pleased to announce a new partnership with CV life meaning that a range of new opportunities for carers and their families will be available on a monthly basis.
My Time works with businesses, hotels, leisure facilities to connect carers with opportunities to take a break, be it an afternoon tea, a pamper session, a historic talk or a night in a hotel, the scheme has a range of opportunities that carers can connect to.
Not only does it provide carers with a break but it also supports businesses to think about their own support for their caring workforce.
If you know a carer that would benefit from a break you can refer to the scheme by emailing: mytimecoventry@localsolutions.org.uk
You can also look at the range of opportunities available.

The Adult Social Care Stakeholder Group meet every other month to discuss any upcoming developments, projects and changes. They are there to influence, make changes and help us improve the experience of people accessing Adult Social Care.
The group is made up of people receiving support, carers and voluntary sector organisations. In October 2025, the group discussed the Adult Social Care Annual Report and Self assessment, Care Technology and the Preventative Support Grant and Commissioning Activity.

An overview of the services offered by Adult Social Care Stakeholder Group.
The group has input into the language and layout of the Adult Social Care Offer (even correcting typos). The group is growing and we're always looking for new members and people who are passionate about using their own experience to help shape our future practice.
If anyone you're working with springs to mind then please let them know about the group. You can email GetInvolvedASC@coventry.gov.uk for more information.
Advert for the Adult Social Care Stakeholder Group who are welcoming new members.
We are continuing to promote the ‘experience survey’. In 2024 to 2025 we received 256 surveys and we would ultimately like to achieve 300 a year so its comparable with the uptake of our postal surveys.
The results so far are showing broadly very positive experience of those people who access our support or the people who care for them having a positive experience.
Feedback has included being complimentary about our support and how we have worked to build a rapport and connection with people and a great proportion of people wanting to get involved in some way in the work of Adult Social Care (over 1,300 people now signed up to this bulletin).
If you've had a recent assessment or support provided from Adult Social Care then we'd like to hear more about your experience. You can provide your feedback by accessing the Adult Social Care Experience survey.
The survey is open to anyone whose received support from Adult Social Care recently and any carer who may have received support.
We use any feedback to make sure we develop and improve our services and understand more about the realities of receiving support through Adult Social Care.
The survey asks for your Care Director ID which can be found on any assessment or support plan you will have received as part of your care journey.

Carers Staff Network - award-winning!
Our internal Staff Carers Network was nominated for an award at the Carers Awards and it won! Huge congratulations to all those involved!
Here’s the nomination below:
"I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to Coventry Council for launching their Support Network for Carers. This initiative offers regular meetings for staff to attend, providing valuable opportunities for learning and connection as well as a new online platform .The Council also invites external organisations to share their knowledge covering essential topics like carers assessments, additional aids, financial and legal talks, among others.
“I truly appreciate the Council's flexible approach, which recognises the additional needs of staff who are carers. They are offering extra time to support medical appointments, emergency care, and other critical situations. This thoughtful policy not only makes a difference to those balancing caregiving responsibilities but also helps foster a culture of shared knowledge and support. Thank you to the Council for their continued dedication to supporting carers and making such a positive impact."
