Are you interested in developing a peaceful, welcoming and inclusive school community?
Do you want to belong to part of a growing community of schools who hold either or both the Coventry Peace Award or School of Sanctuary accreditation?
Joining this network of schools enables you to connect with other schools doing similar work and many local and national organisations who can support you.
While the Peace Award and Schools of Sanctuary are completely separate, there are many shared aims, so if you hold one award you might be eligible for the other.
Please join us on Thursday 16 October for an informal information session.
You will get chance to chat with organisations including UNESCO, Peacemakers, Godiva Sisters, Coventry Association of International Friendship, Coventry’s Peace and Reconciliation Committee and more. You will also get support and advice with applying for either award.

Teacher Callout: 'Nanny of the Maroons' Education Steering Group
The Belgrade Theatre is seeking committed local educators and academics to help shape a cross-curricular, cross-phase learning resource for schools inspired by our forthcoming production of 'Nanny of the Maroons' (staged in spring 2027).
This is an opportunity to collaborate on an educational programme that centres Black British, African and Caribbean histories, connects deeply with the central themes of the play, and supports inclusive teaching and learning across subjects.
As part of a collaborative approach to shaping the resource, members of the steering group will have the opportunity to engage with creatives leading the Belgrade's production of 'Nanny of the Maroons'.
Want to know more?
The theatre will be hosting an information sharing session on Wednesday 22 October. Join us to learn how you or your school can get involved, and hear more about the vision for our production of ‘Nanny of the Maroons’ from the Belgrade’s Creative Director, Corey Campbell.
We’re interested in meeting teachers, incl. senior teachers and curriculum leads, with expertise in a range of subject areas including History, English, Drama, Music, PSHE & Citizenship. As well as any teachers or schools already developing or leading models of best practice.
📅Save the Date Wednesday 22nd October, 2025.
🕓 Time 4.30-5.30pm at Belgrade Theatre.
Notes will be made available after the session for anyone unable to attend.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued a safety report for the product Conen Motorised Display Wall Mount/SCETAW. If schools have such equipment they are advised to ensure that there are appropriate protective features installed such as anti-collision devices.
There also needs to be an adequate risk assessment in place. The controllers must be kept away from children.
