Mum looks on with pride as little one cycles in front
Transport for West Midlands is hosting a family active travel event at Nauls Mill Underpark on Saturday 20 September between 11am and 3pm. There will be free bike repairs, virtual reality experiences, music, games and much more!
Coventry visitor information kiosk – Kiddical Mass ride meeting point
The Coventry Kiddical Mass group is organising a short family ride. The group will meet and depart outside Coventry rail station (next to the Visitor Information kiosk) at 10am on Saturday 27 September, following a short route through the city centre to Coventry cathedral. Kiddical Mass is a global movement that celebrates family-inclusive cycling. The event is a great opportunity to meet other families who like cycling together.

The last of our adult cycle training sessions of the summer also takes place on Saturday 20 September, and just 1 place remains for anyone 16+ years old who wants to brush up on their cycle skills.
A man leans over a bike to fix a tyre
Our Learn to Fix programme is filling up! Sessions have been popular over the summer and only a few dates now remain. Join Coventry Cycle Centre for a "bike kitchen" on Tuesday 23 and Thursday 25 September, where you will learn how to keep your cycle going over the winter. You can also learn about chains and gears on Thursday 18 September.
Whittle Arches at night - long exposure with light trails
We are pleased to announce that since Tuesday 9 September, streetlights in Coventry will remain on all night, helping you feel safer cycling after sunset. If you want to be bright and be seen, a limited number of reflective vests are available free of charge to employers, schools and charities in the city.
Children and adults enjoying one of Coventry's safe cycleways
We’ve been busy over the summer installing new cycleways in the city.
Coundon Park. The new segregated cycleway through Coundon Park is now fully surfaced and open for residents to enjoy. Final lining and installation of the remaining bollards are expected to be completed this week. Work has also begun on installing lighting columns, with a switch-on date to be confirmed soon.
The new pedestrian and cycle crossings at Brownshill Green Road, Tamworth Road, and Long Lane are scheduled for installation next week. Grass seeding has been completed along the entire route, helping to integrate the path into the park's natural surroundings. Landscaping, along with the installation of benches and bins, is planned for later in the year.
Juniper Park. The finishing line is also in sight for a cycleway in Juniper Park, which will connect Allesley Park to Eastern Green.
Canley Ford. Work is also expected to be completed soon on improvements to the cycleway along Fletchamstead Highway near Charter Avenue. This work includes an upgrade to the existing toucan crossing over the A45 at Canley Ford, and a new cycle zebra crossing on Cannon Hill Road.
Willenhall Cycleway. The first phase of Willenhall Cycleway was completed in June, along London Road between ASDA roundabout and Abbey Road. This is part of a much longer proposal, to connect Binley Cycleway at Gosford Green to Greenpower Park at Coventry Airport. When complete, the whole route will provide access to new job opportunities for residents in Hillfields, Lower Stoke, Stoke Aldermoor and Willenhall.
The skyline of the city of Coventry
Whether it’s better roads, improvements to parks, support for carers or helping people who become homeless, there are services in Coventry that are more important to different people.
Councils across the country are battling rising prices and increasing demands on their services and Coventry is no different.
This adds to the pressure on the 700 services we deliver every year.
We cannot do everything we would like to, but we can make sure that we give everyone the opportunity to have a say in how we build our budget for 2026 to 2027.
That’s why we want to get feedback from you, about where to focus our spending.
We want your views about the things that concern you and your family; to help us understand where we should focus resources as we work to improve quality of life across our city.
We have put together a survey to help us get your views and ensure they are considered in our future financial plans.
If you can spend a few minutes to respond to us, we would love to get your thoughts.
