Coventry New Start newsletter
In this issue:
Thank you for connecting with Coventry City Council's International Recruit Support Service our primary aim is to try and help you get re-sponsored by a reputable local care company in Coventry and Warwickshire.
We are working behind the scenes with employers and other partners to open up opportunities for sponsorship but at the present time it remains very difficult. We cannot provide sponsorships ourselves.
If you have received this newsletter from us directly then you need do no more as we have your details on our database and will be in touch as soon as we get some progress.
If you have received this newsletter from a friend, a colleague or another organisation please send an email to IR@coventry.gov.uk and we will add your details. Email is a much better way of contacting us than direct telephone calls. If you do not want to receive this newsletter in the future please send us an email and we will remove you from the database requesting this.
From time to time we will send you questionnaires and other correspondence relevant to your sponsor search, please try and respond as it helps us understand the issues you are facing.
A new SponsorSwitch app has been launched which aims to link people looking to switch their sponsorship with local, regional and national employers. The service is completely app-based and is free to use for those seeking to switch their sponsorship. The app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
If you use this service and are successful in switching your sponsorship please let us know. Read more information on the service and how to download the App please visit the Lifted Talent website.

Coventry City Council have linked with local migration rights organisation Tulia to restart the popular advice and information sessions for international workers in the city.
Tulia worked with us during phase one of the project and can deliver legal, immigration and employment rights support. Sessions will take place at the Methodist Central Hall in Coventry City Centre on Thursday afternoons, we are just finalising dates but they should be starting in just a couple of weeks and we will invite you by email.

The IR team and partners in the city are organising four "Welcome to the City" events for international workers. The first event is planned for the afternoon of 28 February at the Methodist Central Hall, Lower Hall. We look forward to meeting you there and hope the events will allow you to connect with many local organisations who can provide a wide range of support.
