The graphic of life expectancy along Coventry bus route number 7 has been updated. Coventry bus route number 7 runs between Brownshill Green in the north-west and Bell Green in the north-east of the city. It crosses some of the city's most affluent areas, as well as some of the most deprived areas. On the graphic, the height of each bus stop represents the average life expectancy at birth of residents in each area in 2016-2020, the most up to date statistics available for local areas.
The life expectancy at birth of the average person in Coventry is 76.8 years for males and 81.6 years for females. However, this masks significant health inequalities across the city.

You can read a newly published report about Coventry city centre footfall in quarter 3 2024 it focusses on footfall trends for the period of July to September 2024.
The number of daily visitors to Coventry city centre was reduced, notably down on the year before. However, the average dwell time of those who visited was up year-on-year, so the city centre would have felt as busy overall.
The headline data is updated monthly and published on the Council's website, you can view the Coventry city metrics dashboards here:
We want to hear from residents, businesses, and organisations in Coventry to tell us what they think about a list of proposed financial savings that we have put together to help us achieve a balanced budget for 2025-26.
We don’t want to have to make the proposals but need to consider them out of necessity. All councils are facing very similar circumstances to bridge budget gaps.
Like other local authorities we have a legal duty to achieve a balanced budget.
No decisions have been made yet. This won’t happen until the end of February. The consultation will run until 28 January 2025.
Please give us your views by filling in our short survey or register to attend a face to face/online workshop.
