Due to the implementation of a new administration system in July 2023, the West Midlands Pension Fund have unfortunately been undergoing problems for some members. It is important to be aware that members retiring have been impacted and payments of pension benefits have been delayed.
The Fund are making every effort to build capacity and capabilities to meet member demand for benefit information and payments. In their latest update October 2024 Customer Servicing Update they provide and signpost up to date information to support members planning or preparing for retirement. Their servicing standards continue to improve and further measures have been taken to accelerate the production of benefit quotations over the coming weeks and months.
They continue to prioritise services to members who are seeking payments following retirement and bereavement.
Please note: The West Midlands Pension Fund are issuing regular updates to all members and employers. If you are not receiving these updates please ensure that your contact details are up to date in your online account : Pension Portal | West Midlands Pension Fund (wmpfonline.com)
The employer authorities within the West Midlands Pension Scheme are in regular talks with the Fund ensuring that we are doing all we can to assist this process and our members.
