Child cycle training
You've been asking us for children's cycle training, and we've listened! Over the summer, there are many ways you get help your little one on their journey to being a safe, confident and happy cyclist.
We are providing a mixture of drop-in and bookable sessions over the summer, including through the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme, all completely free of charge.

The Outdoors Partnership is running a programme of inclusive cycling sessions for adults from Monday 29 July, and every Monday throughout August. These sessions give people a chance to ride a range of cycles, which may be more suitable to their needs than a traditional two-wheeled cycle.
Photographs of various bikes available. The text reads "Come and try. What bikes are available?"
Worried about wheels? Perplexed by pedals? Baffled by brakes?
Come along to a free Doctor Bike session where you can get your bike checked over and minor repairs carried out free of charge. Some sessions also include bike security marking and free D-lock giveaways. Your Doctor Bike may need to refer you to a shop for more complicated repairs.
We want to thank cyclists for riding responsibly in the city centre precinct area. Regular patrols of the city centre have seen over 200 e-bike riders dismount to comply with the Public Space Protection Order, with only 21 fixed penalty notices (fines) needing to be issued.
Please also be aware that the City Centre Cycleway is coming soon, which will help make cycling across the city centre even easier.
There are just a few more days to have your say on proposals to create a cycleway along part of London Road. The consultation runs until 4 August.
