An ambitious plan to create much-needed additional specialist school provision in Coventry is set to take another step forward.
A tendering process has closed on delivering the exciting redevelopment of the former Woodlands School.
The scheme will bring together provision currently being delivered on two separate sites by Woodfield School, which was rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted earlier this year. The project will also create around an additional 200 spaces for the city.
The Council, in collaboration with West Midlands Police, is proud to announce the launch of the Safe Spaces project!
The Safe Spaces project involves the establishment of designated safe havens throughout the city.
Safe Spaces will be easily identifiable through window stickers and will be equipped with essential amenities such as power banks, chargers, first aid kits, and informational leaflets.
The Naiad has returned to Upper Precinct!
The statue was moved after someone detached it from its fixing.
Cllr Jim O'Boyle popped down to see its new location and recorded a quick clip explaining the situation.
Local and regional elections took place last Thursday (2 May).
The local elections saw three Labour gains in Bablake, Sherbourne and Westwood meaning that Labour remain the largest party overall with 40 seats, Conservatives with 12 seats and the Green Party with two.
At a regional level, Richard Parker was elected the new Mayor of the West Midlands and Simon Foster was re-elected as the region's Police and Crime Commissioner.
The date for the election in Radford Ward has also been set. The by-election will take place on the 20 June.

Coventry Music Hub has been appointed by Arts Council England to lead a new regional music hub.
This new hub, called Heart of England Music, will see Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull work together to benefit the next generation of musicians.
