Coventry has been a Marmot city since 2013. This strategic monitoring tool oversees the city-wide programmes of work aligned to the Marmot principles delivered by partner organisations, including voluntary organisations and statutory agencies across Coventry to tackle health inequalities.
The Marmot monitoring tool has been updated and its refreshed framework recognises the impact of the Covid pandemic, the cost of living crisis, and the potential widening of health inequalities for our residents.

A new tool 'Explore Local Statistics' has been published by ONS. You can manipulate data and find out trends and get data for Coventry to compare and visualise statistics. You can also examine data for Coventry on topics including Economy, Housing, Education and skills, Health & Well Being and Connectivity.

According to this Coventry's:
- Economic inactivity rate is 22.4% compared to England average of 21.0%, it has decreased by 1.6% since 2020.
- Employment rate is 71.9 % compared to England average of 76.0%, it has increased by 0.5% since 2020.
- Gross Disposable income is estimated at £17,175 compared to England estimated income of £22,213, It has increased by £2,078 since 2020.
- Gross Median weekly pay is £575 compared to England average of £577, It has increased by £112 since 2020.

Mid-Year Population estimates from the Office for National Statistics were published last year at a local authority level in England and Wales. National population estimates broken down into small geographical areas (Super Output Areas, health geographies, electoral wards, Parliamentary constituencies and National Parks). Mid-year refers to 30 June of any given year.
Population estimates provide statistics on the size and age structure of the population in the UK at country, region, county, and local authority level.
The area covering Central Coventry was amongst the top 10 in England and Wales for population growth between 2021 and 2022. In the year 2022, the population has increased to 13,300, an increase of around 2,400 (3.3%) since mid-year 2021.
