The criteria for local people to apply to a scheme offering free home energy efficiency improvements has just changed – meaning households with a combined annual income of under £36,000 can apply – an increase of £5,000.
To qualify for Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) funding, eligible applicants must also be owner occupiers or privately rent a home not heated by mains gas boiler systems and have an energy performance certificate (EPC) between D and G.
Those who qualify could see their home benefit from solar panels, heating upgrades or new insulation to help cut energy bills make homes warmer and reduce their carbon footprint.

Still looking for lots of ideas and things to do for the second week of the Easter holidays?
The Visit Coventry Team has pulled together a full list of activities and attractions to enjoy this week, including a Spring Craft Market in West Orchards Shopping Centre, Easter-themed tree decorating and egg hunts at Coombe Abbey Park and Fairy Folk and Fearless Knights, a magical experience in the stunning St Mary’s Guildhall.
We're making changes to garden waste(brown bin) collections.
From 8 April, you can sign up for your garden waste collection permit, which will begin in June and cost £40 a year.
You'll be able to pay by cash/debit/cheque online, over the phone or in person at the Customer Service Centre in Upper Precinct.
This was a tough decision for the Council to make. However we have had to make changes like this to cope with the financial pressures we're facing. These pressures have been caused by rising inflation, increasing demand and severe underfunding.
Coventry’s HAF Easter holiday programme is taking place all across the city and is delivered by over 40 organisations, including leisure centres, Herbert Art Gallery, Coventry Transport Museum, local schools and community centres, in addition to offering great trips to attractions such as Coombe Abbey Park and Go-Ape.
The programme is open to children and young people who are eligible for benefit-related free school meals or who meet other eligibility criteria.
This year is the 25th anniversary of our beloved Godiva Festival and you’re invited to celebrate with us.
We have a whole host of big-name acts joining us in War Memorial Park this July, including Richard Ashcroft, Paloma Faith, Beverly Knight, Wes Nelson and Sam Ryder.
Beyond the music, there’ll be delicious food, extraordinary performers and stunning family entertainment.
Secure your day tickets now for as little as £12.50 for a standard ticket or £38 for a whole family!

Did you catch the first episodes of This Town? The six-part series comes from the writer of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight, and is airing at 9pm on BBC One on Sundays.
The show was partly filmed at the City Centre Cultural Gateway (former IKEA building) and tells the story of a band’s formation against a backdrop of violence.
The building has been used as a filming location over recent months. Work to start its transformation into Coventry's vibrant cultural hub is set to begin in the summer.
Looking for a new challenge? We're always looking for talented, committed people to join our organisation.
At the moment, we're looking for people to work in schools. As a result, our Recruitment Team is holding a School Recruitment Fair at the Transport Museum on Tuesday 23 April from 1pm-5pm. Sign up to attend that event by completing this form on our website.
As always you can find the latest news from the Council on our website or on our social media channels.
