Happy New Year!
Welcome to our Climate Change newsletter, filled with news updates, event details and information about how you can join us in creating a greener, healthier, and more prosperous city.
Coventry City Council’s Godiva Festival has achieved the Greener Festival Improvers Certification 2023 after several sustainability improvements were implemented by organisers.
The certification which relates to last year’s festival was achieved following a rigorous assessment process by not-for-profit sustainability specialists, A Greener Future.
The assessment involves a detailed analysis of areas of sustainability such as transport, energy and power, waste, water usage, local environment, carbon emissions and food and beverages.
Coventry City Council has partnered with E.ON in the UK’s first 15-year Strategic Energy Partnership, which aims to transform the city’s approach to carbon reduction while helping people save money and boosting the local economy. And now E.ON has released a short film to celebrate the fact that it has been based in the city for the last 30 years. We hope you enjoy watching, it features plenty of local people and local landmarks.
Help us identify Sustainability Heroes!
We’re working with E.ON to identify the everyday heroes that are helping to make Coventry a clean, green city.
We know there’s lots of dedicated individuals, organisations and businesses throughout the city who are working tirelessly to promote a greener future.
We believe these people deserve recognition for their efforts which is why we’re asking you to nominate them to be Coventry Sustainability Heroes for 2024.
