The UK and Ireland’s largest jewellery and watch-buying group has a sparkling future in Warwickshire after receiving business support.
The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) has been based in Somers Road in Rugby since 1980, shortly after it was set-up.
Our programme provided CMJ with a grant towards the cost of switching to LED lighting to help them lower the cost of energy bills, as well as their carbon footprint. Following the support we have offered, CMJ will now be able to save over £3,000 a year and reduce their annual carbon footprint by almost two tonnes.
During April and May the Climate Change team will be hosting a series of webinars which will focus in more detail on each one of the pathways of the strategy. You can register for as many pathway webinars that you want, so you can get a deeper understanding of the Climate Change Strategy.
Each webinar session will focus on a different area:
Low Emissions Development – cleaner air and more jobs and money for Coventry.
Circular Development – recycling and reusing our resources (less things in landfill).
Nature Based Development – protecting our city’s wildlife, plants and trees.
Resilient Development – coping with the consequences of climate change (things like flooding, drought and not being able to grow food).
Equitable Development – addressing the effects of climate change on vulnerable/low-income families (paying for food and keeping warm).
Over the last six quarters, the Green Business Network has shown remarkable growth with each quarter outpacing the previous one.
As more and more companies recognise the importance of sustainability, the Green Business Network is well-positioned to continue its upward trajectory and make a positive impact on the environment and the business world.
Date: 20 June 2023
Venue: Coventry Building Society Arena, Coventry
Brought to you by future Net Zero, the cross-industry platform where businesses come together to help enable responsible growth and influence others, business and public sector leaders will be able to learn and understand how you can improve your company’s carbon footprint. You can get expert advice on cutting emissions and how to get the funding to help you do so.
In partnership with Coventry Council, the free event is set to be bigger and better than last year, with a focus on encouraging businesses across the UK to go net zero.
Did you know that the UK discards a whopping 2.5 billion disposable coffee cups annually, and less than 1% of them get recycled. This leads to half a million cups being dumped every day, causing considerable environmental harm.
Cab’n Go is dedicated to reducing this waste and help the environment. By transforming coffee waste into reusable cups, promoting responsible recycling, and providing compostable packaging alternatives, we are determined to make a difference in the community. We believe that every individual can contribute to a sustainable future. Therefore, we offer information and resources to aid businesses and communities in making eco-friendly choices.
