The Coventry Children's Mile event is returning this year after the event saw more than 1,800 children from over 30 schools participate in 2019.
Taking place on 18 June, the event will be fundraising for Team Coventry’s journey to Daegu, South Korea, for the International Children’s Games along with a local charity.
The Lawn Tennis Association has confirmed the five players to face France in the Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Qualifier on April 14-15 at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Harriet Dart, Heather Watson, Katie Boulter, Alicia Barnett and Olivia Nicholls will make up the team.
Go Foleshill continue to hold their fantastic Community Mile in Edgwick Park each week, sometimes attracting more than 250 residents.
Residents can run, jog or walk the mile.
There is no need to book, just turn up and have fun.
Sport England came to Coventry to take a look at the fantastic work that is taking place in the city with some of the projects that they fund, including Go Foleshill.
They headed to Edgwick Park to see how the community is engaging with the project and in particular, the Community Mile, a free event that the project runs weekly for families in the area.
The 2023 Team Coventry came together for the first time since they have been selected to compete in this year’s International Children’s Games in South Korea in July.
The athletes had their first briefing ahead of their long journey and training for the Games.
The team is looking for sponsors and support of any kind to assist in their journey to Games.

The Adult Social Care leg of the Coventry Moves project has won a High Sheriff Award. In particular, the award was given to Marsh House, a retirement home in Coventry, for contribution to a community project and their continued participation in Coventry Moves.
The Coventry Moves project aims to tackle isolation and inactivity by incorporating socialisation, movement and activity into people’s lives.
The residents at Marsh House have now started to plan their own activities and make new friendships and connections with other care homes as a result of the project.
With funding from the Lawn Tennis Association, Coventry City Council is supporting the re-surfacing the four tennis courts at Spencer Park.
The timing of the re-surfacing is perfect as the city hosts the Billie Jean King Cup this April too. Brand new fencing and coded access gates will also be installed.
The free Broadgate Farmyard event is a family-friendly affair, guaranteed to keep both adults and children entertained.
A collection of real farm animals can be petted along with plenty of entertainment, including Plucky the giant – but friendly – chicken, farmers Frank and Dave will be on hand with their chocolate egg-laying chicken, Dippy the Dinosaur egg painting, tractors from the Coventry Transport Museum and more!
Children's activities will be running from 3 – 14 April at Centre AT7, The Alan Higgs Centre and Xcel Leisure Centre. They will also take place at Moat House Leisure Centre from 11 - 14 April.
Activities including football, swimming and gymnastics will be on offer for kids aged 5-11 years.

The Juniors Aquathlon will be taking place on 14 May at Xcel Leisure Centre.
The event will be a fun, friendly aquathlon and is perfect for anyone wanting to try it out or for more experienced athletes.
The aquathlon is open to all fitness abilities aged 8-16 and consists of running and swimming of varying distances.
