Welcome to the July edition of our Green Business Programme newsletter

There are only a few months left to apply for the Green Business grants and due to the popularity of our programme we are considering capping the maximum grant amount to £20K. Team announcements
We are happy to announce that our colleague Sara Ballinger, GBP Business Advisor, has now returned to work following her maternity leave. Sara will be working four days a week and she is eager to help as many SMEs as possible in the following months.
This month we also had to say goodbye to our colleague Maciej Gasiewicz, who was working as a Programme Officer for our programme. Maciej joined us in 2020 on a Project Management Internship, after graduating with a first from Coventry University this year, he has now moved to Sweden where he will continue his studies.
Stay safe, stay green! 💚
Alex, Bernie, Clare, Jon, Maria, Matt and Sara.
We would like to thank our speakers and attendees for coming together to our first post pandemic in-person event.
At this event we discussed ways SMEs can access help from our programme but also from other local organisations such as the Growth Hub or Federation of Small Businesses.
The pictures and presentations from this event can now be downloaded from our website. If you’ve attended this event it would be great if you could please share your feedback with us.

MPL Fabrications
“It is clearly a challenge for SMEs in manufacturing to make significant carbon savings. However, there are things that can be done,” says Kevin Duffy, Managing Director of MPL Fabrications Ltd.
GBP has recently supported MPL to make improvements to their business premises which will result in 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions saving per annum and a reduction in projected energy bills for a year by almost £2,800, a saving of around 25% off MPL’s average annual bills.
Alphateq
Alpateq has recently been awarded a grant of £5,758 from the Green Business Programme.
The grant has been used to make improvements to the lighting system which will enable the businesses to save 4.55 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The total cost of the new energy measures (£16,758) will be paid back in just over three years.
From improving efficiency and reducing business costs to creating more opportunities, the benefits of becoming more sustainable are harder to ignore. Saving our planet has never been more advantageous for businesses, but it's important to act before it's too late!
Coventry City Council are calling all parents and carers to complete a short survey about childcare within Coventry. If you live outside of Coventry but use childcare within the city you are also welcome to submit a response.
We will use the information we receive from this survey to ensure we have sufficient childcare places within the city.
This survey will close at midnight on Friday 30 September 2022. If you need this survey in a paper format or different language please call 024 7697 5451.
