We have also developed a poster based on the action plan of this review. The poster sets out the recommendations made and actions taken, and each box is hyperlinked to the relevant resources produced. Access the action plan.
Learning Disability Week will be taking place from 20 - 26 June this year. The theme will be 'Living Life with a Learning Disability', showing how people with a learning disability are reconnecting with friends and their communities as well as the issues many people still face after the end of COVID restrictions, like still having to isolate or dealing with poor mental health and anxiety.

We have also recently published a One Minute Guide on the Transforming Care Learning Disability and Autism Programme which include the aims of the programme, key terms, how to access support and link to further information.
We have also developed a One Minute Guide on Professional Curiosity, encouraging practitioners to reflect on how they may be professionally curious in their own work and detailing the barriers to curiosity.
Within the West Midlands, there are nine local areas that collaborate with regards to child safeguarding procedures. These Regional Child Protection Procedures are hosted on a central site, and additional partnership information can also be accessed for each area. Access the Regional Procedures
A new policy on Physical Abuse has been produced on this site which details challenges parents and carers may face, risks, indicators and actions to be taken. Read the policy.
We are currently holding a quick survey on how the Regional Procedures are accessed, used and shared. We would appreciate any responses and suggestions for improvement.

We would like to invite any frontline practitioners who are keen to keep up to date with safeguarding developments across the city to our Safeguarding Together Action Group (STAG).
The is a great opportunity to encourage cross-agency working, upskill through training presentations on a range of topics, look at the effects of action on front line practice and to identify emerging safeguarding issues and themes.
The group meets 3/4 times per year via MS Teams and sessions are driven by members requests for topics and information.

Your Voice Matters is a chance for students to get involved in a discussion around Safeguarding within the local area, through discussion groups held in schools between Partnership representatives and students.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Children and Young People to discuss what they understand about safeguarding and whether they have any concerns within their area. From these discussions we are able to discuss any findings with the responsible partners and help amend any issues that may be arising.

Neglect is a common feature in both local and national learning and we have produced a toolkit to assist practitioners to understand and identify neglect and respond appropriately.
The toolkit contains case studies, links to further resources and details of what actions can be taken. Alongside the toolkit is a Neglect Threshold Document and Child Friendly Tools. Download the toolkit.
The Coventry Youth Offending Team are pleased to announce that they will be known as the Coventry Youth Justice Team.
This change is a result of staff across the team wanting to more clearly reflect the work they do with children, families, victims and communities across the city but is also in response to a consultation exercise which took place with children in late 2021.
The Coventry Youth Justice Team is excited about this change and looks forward to continuing to work with all partners to improve the lives of children and families in our city. We feel this name change will send a clear message to children we are working with that our focus is on their potential, rather than their past.
