From May 2021, our reign as UK City of Culture 2021 begins. What an opportunity for visitors to experience the city we know and love. 

Who better to welcome them than YOU! 

Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 wants you to share your passion for Coventry. Everyone has something to give and something to gain. 

Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 (in partnership with ENV and CUSU) is looking for 5,000 volunteers throughout the year, to spend as much or as little time as they can, to showcase the city. 

Volunteers will be rewarded with limited edition uniform, training and discounts.  

Imagine being able to say... "I was part of that".

‘Lady Godiva’s Birthday Suit’ recounts the story of the Coventry icon’s famous ride through the city and “Coventry; The Phoenix City” recalls the Coventry Blitz and the destruction and rebuilding of Coventry and Coventry Cathedral!

New online photographic exhibition

A new online exhibition at The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum

What Photography & Incarceration have in Common with an Empty Vase results from a collaboration between artist Edgar Martins and prison inmates in the West Midlands, their families and several other individuals and community groups in the region.

The online exhibition is now open and includes an artist-led tour and a 3D virtual view of the physical exhibition which you can control yourself. The exhibition highlights items from Martins' body of work and includes a closer look at some of the works that make up this thought-provoking experience.

The Festival of Running team will be making an announcement on the Coventry Half Marathon and 5k this Sunday (28 February).

COVID-19 lockdown latest and community testing

Did you know that the minimum age limit to take a COVID-19 test at one of our community test sites has changed.

Children aged from two years are now eligible to get tested.

You can find full details about community testing, local restrictions and support on the dedicated coronavirus section on the Council's website.

What is Go CV+ and am I eligible?

Many of our partners offer greater savings for those who qualify, known as Go CV+ and these discounts will also apply to children in your family group.  Please ensure your account is up to date so you don't miss out!

Am I eligible for Go CV+ ?

The answer is YES, if one or more of these apply to you:

 ✅  You are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits listed on the website

 ✅  You are a carer registered with Carers Trust Heart of England

 ✅  You are Student [NUS]

 ✅  You are a young person aged between 16-19 years

It's the same card - it is your unique card number that will recognise you as Go CV+ provided you have a validated Go CV account.  

The full list of qualifying benefits can be found on the website and during lockdown you can email us proof of your address and/or benefits and we'll email you back to confirm it has been done.
