Happy Christmas from Go CV

Happy Christmas from all at Go CV

Have a great Christmas and stay safe

It's going to be a different Christmas this year for us all.

As the city remains in Tier 3 of the national COVID guidelines, it means some venues remain closed and we must follow the guidelines to help control the spread of the virus. That includes over the Christmas period but there are still ways to exercise and work off all those festive goodies!

You can even enjoy some of our city's great attractions from the comfort of your own home - for example a virtual Belgrade Theatre pantomime.

So please follow all health and Government guidelines, stay safe and protect others - but find some new ways to enjoy the festive season.

Merry Christmas from all at Go CV and all the best for a happy and healthy 2021.

Why not pick up your card during the holidays?

Many of you still need to collect a card and add a membership number to your account - and a reminder that every member of your family needs a card of their own. Here's a guide to create a family account.

Why not pick one up over the holidays from one of the following locations, but please view their festive opening hours before you go and follow social distancing guidelines:

CV Life Christmas 2020

Parks offices are closed however all parks and open spaces will be open over Christmas.

No staff will be on duty however the toilets at both Coombe Abbey Park and War Memorial Park will be available for use as follows:

War Memorial Park from 27 December to 1 January at the Tennis Pavilion.

Coombe Abbey Park from 26 December onwards.

Hamper winner

We have our lucky festive hamper winners

Lots of Coventry people registered for a card recently to enter our festive competition. The six winners have now been notified so thank you if you signed up for a card either for yourself or your family.

One of the winners, Kay Murphy from Longford said "I am absolutely gobsmacked to have won.  Me and my husband celebrate our wedding anniversary this week too so a real treat like this is amazing. Thank you so much Go CV."

Kay tells us that she signed up for a card as she plans to go swimming in the new year and this will help her save money whilst getting fit.

Here's an image of another winner, Angelo Prieto Montoya, who said "I just can't believe it, I am so happy to hear this news and couldn't be more thrilled. Thank you so much!"

Belgrade Panto

Another lucky Go CV winner

Congratulations to Amanda and her family from St Michael's Ward who won the Go CV social media competition to win a virtual Belgrade Theatre panto direct into their own home.

The show is still available to view, so book your tickets on the website.

So what happened in 2020 other than COVID-19?

We welcomed new Go CV partners and offers

We hope that throughout this difficult year we have created benefits for cardholders to enjoy either virtually or outdoors with their families and their social bubbles.

Plus we offered some fantastic free cycling to help adults and children to learn to ride, develop skills away from traffic and build confidence riding on the road.

There are more exciting partners and offers planned, so we hope that 2021 will prove to be a better year to us all.

Alan Higgs Opening

Alan Higgs Centre goes olympic!

February 2020 saw the opening of the 50m pool at The Alan Higgs Centre, as well as renovation and expansion of the fitness suite along with the new changing rooms, health suite and function room with views of the pool.

Go CV discounts already apply at all CV Life centres, so this was another brilliant addition available to cardholders.

Pictured are Councillor Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport and Paul Breed, Chief Executive of CV Life taken at the opening and before social distancing.

Please check the website for latest information, Covid restrictions and CV Life centres opening times during the festive season

We're shaping the future of Go CV with your survey responses!

During October, we asked you to tell us about your past, present and future use of the scheme through our Go CV survey.

You told us...

  • You love visiting the Transport Museum and The Wave - they were the most popular places for members to use their card.
  • Most of you found out about Go CV through social media - like our Facebook and Twitter pages.
  • 75% agree that Go CV makes it more affordable to enjoy activities in the city - with our range of offers, it's easy to see why.
  • You want to see more offers related to sport and leisure, food and drink and City of Culture 2021 tickets.

We're working hard to provide Go CV members with even more opportunities and offers in 2021... so watch this space.

PPTLL merging with Go CV

Go CV+ replaced

Passport to Leisure

Throughout the year Passport to Leisure and Learning merged into Go CV with the same qualifying benefits and partners.

Passport to Leisure came to an end in September 2020 so please ensure your Go CV account is up to date if you are in receipt of qualifying benefits.

What is Go CV+ and am I eligible?

Girl at the Wave

Two of your favourites - have you visited them yet?

The fantastic waterpark at The Wave continues to be one of your most favourite attractions in the city where both Go CV and Go CV+ cardholders can get a discount.

It celebrated its first birthday in October and lots of cardholders took advantage of the extra 25% discount.

Coventry Transport Museum is another favourite with all Go CV cardholders having  FREE admission with a card.

We know the pandemic has had an impact on both venues opening this year, they will be back in 2021 when it is safe to welcome you again.

50,000

50,000 membership

This impressive milestone was reached in November 2020. Congratulations to Sian, a social worker, who became our 50,000th cardholder.

She won a bumper package of Luminate tickets for Coombe Abbey; family ticket for The Wave, a festive hamper from Fargo Village and a Visit Coventry 2021 calendar.
