Children's Learn to Ride and Cycle Skills in half term

Go Ride with British Cycling's Learn to Ride and Cycle Skills sessions for children age 4-15 on Wednesday 28 October at The Alan Higgs Leisure centre. Places are limited.

Book online today from 6pm (Friday 9 October).

Alternatively visit HSBC UK Ready Set Ride, for free, quick and easy games to help you teach your child how to pedal – having lots of fun along the way.

Consultation on plans for a new cycleway to connect Binley Business Park to the city centre has begun. Visit Let's Talk to see the plans and complete the survey.

Consultation on phase one closes on 31 October.

Get cycling with free training for adults

Do you want to help you learn to ride, develop your skills away from traffic or build your confidence riding on the road. Free training is available to book up to the end of October for sessions at Xcel leisure centre and Coventry Canal Basin.

Book a free two hour session if you live, work or study in Coventry and have a roadworthy bike and helmet.

The consultation on the Coundon Cycleway plans has been completed and work is about to commence. Details of the scheme and amendments can be viewed on the Air Quality pages. 


Be a Breeze Champion - free course for women

Become a British Cycling Breeze Champion and inspire other women to get fit, have fun and ride bikes. You’ll develop strong leadership skills and make new friends while improving your own health and fitness too. Find out more and book a place on the ride leader course on Saturday 17 October.


The Highway Code consultation

The Department for Transport is seeking views on proposed changes to The Highway Code to introduce a hierarchy of road users, clarify pedestrian and cyclist priority and establish safer overtaking. Find out more.


Last chance to apply for free cycle parking

Do you know a local business, school, hospital or community organisation that needs cycle parking on their premises?

Let them know that they can still apply online for FREE cycle stands. The Transport for West Midlands scheme offers to deliver free bike racks to local organisations.


Places to Ride - last chance to apply for funding

Places to ride

British Cycling is inviting applications for Places to Ride funding from organisations that are developing cycling activity in their community, and looking to provide traffic-free opportunities for people to participate.

Places to Ride aims are to inspire people to ride, connect the community and build a lasting legacy.
