Welcome to the latest edition of the Coventry and Warwickshire Green Business Programme newsletter. The global pandemic has presented UK businesses with significant challenges, the legacy of which will live with us for many years to come. This month we are looking at how the impact of COVID-19 is impacting on cycling and walking improvements within the West Midlands, how consumers and suppliers have adapted, and what the future may hold.
We are also excited to bring you the second in our series of GreenTalk LIVE webinars in partnership with the transport team at Coventry City Council. Speakers will be presenting the plans for the Coventry Railway Station project that is being developed to deliver new infrastructure to meet current and projected future passenger growth. Further details on the event and how to register are below.

Builders, plumbers, and other tradespeople across England will need a government-backed seal of approval to provide their services as part of the new £2 billion Green Homes Grant going live at the end of September.
The Government urges tradespeople to sign up for TrustMark accreditation in a drive to support over 100,000 jobs through a new energy efficiency scheme.
Tradespeople must register for TrustMark and/or Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation to take part in the scheme, which will cover green home improvements ranging from insulation of walls, floors and roofs, to the installation of low-carbon heating, like heat pumps or solar thermal – measures that could help families save up to £600 a year on their energy bills. Read more on how to apply for the accreditation.
The Green Business Programme team are planning a webinar on the Green Homes Grant in the next few weeks and we will keep you updated through our twitter account.

A circular economy is one that designs out waste and pollution by reusing and repurposing products and materials that would normally be discarded.
In the West Midlands, businesses across a variety of sectors are already adapting their practices to capitalise on the opportunities that create new economic growth, jobs and reduce their environmental impact. The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is working with experts from business and academia to deliver a plan for advancing a Circular Economy in our region.
The WMCA would like to hear from businesses of all sizes and across all sectors in the region, to inform the next stages in their work. Please complete their short questionnaire by Wednesday 9 September 2020.
