Get a bundle of books from Coventry Libraries using our click and collect service

update

It’s been great to welcome people back to some of our library buildings with our new Click and Collect service.

Anyone can use this service to return or borrow books at Foleshill, Stoke and Tile Hill Libraries, no matter which Coventry Library they usually use, or borrowed books from previously.

We look forward to booking you an appointment online or by phone: 024 7683 2314

These are what some happy members of the public have had to say about the service -

"Thank you. Picked mine up this morning. It’s like a lucky dip!!!! Excited".

"Our girls have missed their library trips during lockdown, but it was great to be able to return some books today and collect a book bundle that had been chosen for us. Really safe and easy to do, just book a slot online"

"Thank you to everyone involved, working to get this service up and running for the public" 😊

Book reviews

Dark secret

Our Dark Secret by Jenny Quintana

I loved this, a story about two families, friendships and also manages to be a thriller too.

I really couldn’t imagine how it was going to end, but couldn’t put it down – its easily a read in one go book.

Bill Bailey

Bill Bailey’s Remarkable Guide to British Birds written and illustrated by Bill Bailey

This is a lovingly illustrated book of fifty one of Bill’s favourite British birds with a resume of each individual bird, with facts, wit and commentary making you feel like you are experiencing observing them in real time, standing in your garden, the park or on a cliff edge.

Dancing by the moon

Dancing by the light of the moon: How poetry can transform your memory and change your life by Gyles Brandreth

This is an engaging and witty anthology of over 250 poems, peppered with Gyles’s commentary on them and all aspects of life. The idea is to try and memorise a poem every fortnight to try and keep dementia at bay. Professor Goshwami, from Cambridge University’s Department for Neuroscience, believes that our brains have the capacity to learn new things as we get older and learning poetry to recite is beneficial to us all. The collection also includes the song or poem Bring me sunshine sung by Morecombe and Wise. I defy you not to sing the words as you read them on the page. It is a lovely and uplifting collection of poems and anecdotes that will make you smile, even if you don’t accept the challenge to learn a poem.
