Offers to make lockdown a little easier

Email to validate account

We hope you and your families have been keeping well and staying safe.

Lockdown life has been difficult for a lot of us, but things are starting to gradually re-open, with social distancing measures in place to protect us.

This month there's a free tennis offer, free online comedy, online adult education courses  and of course, there's the rescheduled Festival of Running when hopefully things will be more back to 'normal'.

Staying safe is important, so our sign-up centres are still closed.  You can email us if you need to validate any proof of address or benefits on your account and we'll delete copies once we've validated them.

Unfortunately due to a technical glitch, some of you may have had emails asking you to pop into a centre to validate your account or collect a card.  You can collect any cards when our centres re-open.

Take care and #staysafe

Staying active if you're at home

Keep Coventry Moving

We know lots of you are juggling childcare, schooling and working from home at the moment and although some of us will be starting to go back to work, we still need to make time for ourselves.

Coventry Sport social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter are promoting fun ideas to keep keep active from clubs and organisations all over Coventry.  Activities for all age groups and abilities are available making sure the campaign is fully inclusive to #KeepCoventryMoving.

There are lots of other free activities online that you can take part  as part of a virtual group or with your family members. Sport England has put together a list of different sessions to keep you motivated as part of their #StayInWorkOut campaign, including sessions for all abilities and those with mobility problems.

Enjoying the outdoors while social distancing

Coventry is lucky to have a number of parks for us to visit and enjoy and car parks at parks have now re-opened.

Please observe strict social distancing and keep at least two metres apart and if you arrange to meet up with another person outside your household, still maintain 2 metres.

Play areas and outdoor gym equipment are still closed to minimise the spread of COVID-19, as well as public toilets.

West Midlands Network has put together some tips on how to safely walk, run or cycle outdoors whilst social distancing.

Quinn exhibition now online at The Herbert

Quinn the Herbert Lottie Davies

Quinn: A journey, the recent exhibition by artist Lottie Davies at The Herbert, can now be viewed online through Google arts.

The exhibition tells the fictional story of a young man, William Henry Quinn, who walks from the south west of England to the far north of Scotland in post-Second World War Britain. Although fictional, the work responds to the real-world experiences of young men and women post-trauma in the early 20th century and now.

There are a number of other collections that you can view online at The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum and other ideas for you in their newsletter.

Whilst we are still in lockdown, sign-up centres are closed so you cannot collect or validate your card, but you can still register if you don't already have a Go CV account.
