Two local businesses have praised the Council’s swift support in helping them access vital grant funding.
Vigour Ltd and Bludog Ltd have both received £10,000 from the Government’s Small Business Grant Fund. The fund, which is part of a wider package of government measures that businesses affected by COVID-19 can access, is being administered by Coventry City Council.
The Small Business Grant Fund offers eligible businesses a one-off grant of £10,000 to help meet their business costs. To be eligible for a grant, businesses must be Coventry based, and already receive Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR) or Rural Rate Relief (RRR).

The area’s first Coronavirus testing centre went live on Monday at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
Car park A at the multi-purpose venue will handle tests for NHS staff and registered care workers.
The site will be managed by the Coventry & Warwickshire Health & Care Partnership - comprising NHS organisations and local authorities.

Professor Jihong Wang, from the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick, has been working with the Association of British Chinese Professors (ABCP), where she is Vice President for finance, to raise funds to purchase personal protection equipment (PPE) for ten UK hospitals to support the NHS in its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the joint effort of all the ABCP members and associated members across the UK, the following has been achieved so far.
