Chinglish, an almost entirely true story by Sue Cheung.
I chose this book as I’d seen it mentioned in a newspaper and it said that it was set in Coventry.
When you start reading it it’s a very humorous story about a family moving to Coventry, the barriers that they face and wonderful descriptions of people that they meet, there are some great illustrations too.
However the book turns out to be much deeper that this, touching on violence, abuse and achievement too.
It’s a great read and I’ve discovered that it's won the Coventry Schools Library Service Book award in the Simply the Book award (best book for readers aged 13+)

The book that I have read most recently was called ANGELFALL by SUSAN EE.
It is very thrilling, full of twists and unexpected turns. It leaves you with a lot of questions (but the good kind) and it leaves you wanting more. In my opinion it would appeal to lots of audiences as it incorporates lots of different genres such as adventure, thriller, romance, horror and even a little bit of mystery; these elements complement each other perfectly. Ultimately, I would rate this book 7.5/10.
