The council would like to work together with private landlords in providing permanent, affordable homes for people in the city who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. There are over 350 families living in temporary accommodation in the city due to being made homeless through no fault of their own, and on a daily basis new families approach us seeking accommodation. Access to Social Housing is limited in the city so we want to strengthen our relationship with private landlords and develop a scheme that meets the councils, the landlords and the customers’ requirements.
To help us shape the scheme, we want to explain our plans in more detail and ask private landlords to give us their thoughts and ideas on how the scheme can work best. We have already had conversations with a small number of landlords but want to now widen our discussions. We are therefore holding events to discuss our plans face to face:
Monday 16 March 14.00 - 15.00 Tuesday 17 March 17.30 - 18.30
The events will be held at the Council House. It would be great if you could attend. To help us manage the event, please go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lets-rent-coventry-rent-guarantee-scheme-tickets-97128990425 to book a place. Places are limited so please book ASAP.
Please note that these events are separate from our forum events to discuss Additional Licensing.
