The Green Business Programme team has leapt into 2020 at a fast pace and has got off to a busy start. We now have 900 members who have joined the Green Business Network which shows us there is a real appetite amongst organisations to embed sustainability within their operations. We have launched our Spring event with many more planned, so do keep your ideas and suggestions for events coming. A world-class engineering and process automation company based in Warwick has invested £345,000 to reduce carbon emissions, expand their workforce and lower energy costs.
3P innovation design, manufacture and support high-end production equipment and machinery, from lab-scale to commercial scale which allows their clients to launch new products faster and at lower cost, with high productivity and reliability from the start.
The company has received a £69k grant from the Coventry and Warwickshire Green Business Programme which is partly funded by the ERDF. The measures have included installing LED energy efficient lighting throughout, a high performance air conditioning system, the installation of solar panels and new high efficiency gas fired modulating heaters that save 30% on fuel costs.
Please note that the grant given to 3P innovation was during Phase 1 of the programme where grant amounts available were up to the amount of £100k. Phase 2 of our programme provides grant funding up to £50k.

The West Midlands Combined Authority has released its #WM2041 report to start a conversation on how everyone can play their part in tackling climate change in the region.
Following the WMCA’s declaration of a climate emergency last year, the document contains 74 potential actions that businesses, councils, the WMCA and residents could take to limit the impact of climate change and achieve carbon neutrality no later than 2041.
The report is open for engagement for over six weeks (closing midnight Thursday 12 March 2020). Everyone is encouraged to read the document and feedback on the proposals to ensure any measures are truly reflective of the region we all live in. Read more...

The Government has published the Whole Life Cost of Energy (WLCoE) calculator to help building owners and operators understand the full financial cost of the energy their buildings use.
