10 Things to do at HSBC UK Let's Ride Coventry - Sunday 8 Sept

Let's Ride Coventry Map

See the city from the saddle at HSBC UK Let's Ride Coventry this Sunday 8 September. Ride the 5km traffic free circuit including the Ring Road and Cathedral Quarter as many times as you like from 11am until 3pm and there's a 1km option too. There are lots of free family activities from 10am in Broadgate and in University Square. 

10 Things to do

In Broadgate from 10am – 3pm

1. Get a Bike check from Dr Bike or hire bikes for adults and children 

2. Enjoy live entertainment on the stage and watch the Extreme Mountain Bike Show (Stunt show times 10.15, 11.15, 12.20, 14.40)

3. Hear from cycling star Shanaze Reade, the West Midlands Cycling and Walking Ambassador (on stage at 12 noon)

4. Get creative with pedal powered art, face painting and personalise your own bib

In University Square by the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum from 10am – 3pm

5. Ride the HSBC UK Go-Ride BMX course

6. Learn circus skills with Wolly the clown

7. Get your bike security marked  by the Safer Travel Police and meet local cycling clubs CTC Coventry and Coventry VISTA.

Ride the 5km traffic free route from 11am – 3pm

8. Ride the 5km traffic free circuit as many times as you like past the Cathedral, through Whitefriars Gate and round the Ring Road. (There’s a 1km option too)

9. Try inclusive cycling with adapted bikes from Cycling Projects outside the Council House.

10.Take on the Sir Chris Hoy Sprint Challenge on the Ring Road and listen to bands around the route.


Guided Rides to HSBC UK Let's Ride Coventry

Take your pick of British Cycling volunteer led guided rides to HSBC UK Let's Ride Coventry this Sunday 8 September.


Hire a bike at HSBC UK Let's Ride Coventry

Family bike hire is available on the day 10am - 3pm in Broadgate. Bike hire operates on a first come, first served basis. To hire a bike you will need to bring a credit card, driving licence or passport AND proof of current address. Prices start from £5 for children’s bikes, tagalongs or trailers and £6 for adults’ bikes for an hour.

Let's Ride Pop Up War Memorial Park - Sunday 15 September

Enjoy a traffic free ride on a 1 mile loop of War Memorial Park at Let's Ride Pop Up family cycling event on Sunday 15 September 10am - 12pm with British Cycling.

There are adapted bikes to borrow from Parkride and children's bikes from Think Active. 

It's totally free to take part, so simply sign up for Let's Ride Pop Up. 


Bike to School Week 23 - 27 September

Bike to school

Sustrans' Bike to School Week is a great opportunity to promote the positive impact that an active lifestyle can have on pupils' wellbeing and health. It's free, there's no need to register, and it's a fantastic way to get warmed up ready for Sustrans Big Pedal in the spring. Take part in the photo competition for a chance to win a Frog Bike.  


Let's Ride Pop Up Edgwick Park - Sunday 29 September

Let's Ride Pop Up Edgwick

Enjoy a traffic free ride around Edgwick Park at Let's Ride Pop Up family cycling event on Sunday 29 September 10am - 12pm with British Cycling. It's totally free to take part, so simply sign up for Let's Ride Pop Up.

Free cycle training for adults

Adult cycle training for beginners is on every Saturday at Caludon Castle Sports Centre until the end of October. Bikes are available to borrow. Book online 

On road training is also available on request for ages 16+ to build your confidence to ride on the road with adult cycle training if you live, work or study in Coventry.
