 Coventry is hosting a free cycling festival with a difference on Sunday 8 September. See the city from the saddle on a traffic free circuit including the Ring Road and Cathedral Quarter. There are lots of free activities from 10am in Broadgate and in University Square by the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum. You can do as many laps of the 5km circuit as you want from 11am until 3pm. And you don’t need to be an experienced cyclist – as it's traffic free and there's a 1km option too. Bring your own bike or there are family bikes to hire in Broadgate (bring ID).

 Join our roundtable and share your views with Coventry City Council, who are actively considering air quality and future mobility measures within the city right now.
These events are aimed at ensuring that the voice of the Fleet Sector is heard when considering the requirements, location and enforcement measures intended to improve air quality. These events will help develop a set of principles that will ensure any incoming clean air measures are cost-effective, business friendly, and successful in improving air quality across the city. The round table will also focus on future mobility plans for the city, after the West Midlands was chosen to be the UK’s first ‘Future Mobility Area’ in autumn last year. Therefore the conversation will in part focus on innovative urban mobility solutions such as mobility credits and last mile deliveries, which seek to address the problems of poor air quality and congestion, as well as the council’s recent investment in electric vehicle charging.
This event comes at a crucial point for Coventry City Council, who are actively considering air quality and future mobility measures within the city right now. This event will give you the opportunity to speak directly to council representatives, hear more about the plans they are considering and offer your feedback.

 UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £20 million for UK-developed late stage R&D in advanced low carbon propulsion capability in the automotive sector.
This Advanced Propulsion Centre and Innovate UK competition is looking for projects that demonstrate the development of on-vehicle technologies for on or off-road vehicles.
Cutting emissions
Projects must either accelerate the development of low and zero tailpipe emission capable technologies, or demonstrate a significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions leading to air quality improvements.
Proposals should align with the UK’s Industrial Strategy and must demonstrate how high value R&D will take place in the UK as a result of this funding.
The Advanced Propulsion Centre is particularly looking for projects that support the UK’s long-term supply chain, associated capabilities and growth aspirations.
This includes, improving productivity and competitiveness in the design, build and manufacture of low and zero tailpipe-emission capable vehicles.
- the project must be led by a UK business
- it must be based in the UK
- it must involve at least one micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME)
- it must include a vehicle manufacturer or tier 1 supplier
- total eligible costs must be 50% match funded and between £5-40 million
