On Tuesday 21 May, Coventry Cathedral held their first ever Tea Dance – over 50 people came together and learned new dance moves and enjoyed tea and cake whilst listening to songs performed by Miss Gloria Sunset. Belgrade Theatre’s Arts Gymnasium ‘Living Well’ taster session for Dementia Action Week welcomed several new faces to the group. This session provides a safe and fun environment for people with memory difficulties and their carers to explore imagination and movement. Also during the week Connie’s Colander came to Tile Hill Library. This heart-felt play is about Connie, her daughter and how dementia affects them. If you missed this performance, it will be at Central Library on Wednesday 19 June at 2pm – with an opportunity to ask questions at the end.

A number of Coventry Libraries and Groundworks staff learned a little more about dementia and committed to take an action in Dementia Friends sessions. Workers from Alzheimer’s Society also chatted to people at Earlsdon Park Village and UHCW during the week.

Get Involved in developing support for adults with Autism / Attention Deficit Disorder

Are you an adult with suspected or diagnosed with Austistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)  and/or Attention Deficitt Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)? Or do you care for someone awaiting an assessment or has a diagnosis of ASD and/or ADHD?

If, so as an ‘Expert by Experience’, we would welcome your time to jointly review the emerging findings from recent engagement sessions hosted by Grapevine across Coventry and Warwickshire on local provision of pre-assessment, assessment and post-assessment support needs for Children, Young People and Adults ASD/ ADHD.

Over the last month Grapevine has been holding energetic engagement sessions, including 'walk and talks' and 'ideas factories' - it stimulated a wide range of ideas and possible solution to improve and strengthen support!

We would therefore like to take the opportunity to visit and meet with ASD/ ADHD Experts by Experience and test some of the emerging ideas and prioritise key recommendations.

Date: Tuesday 25 June at 10am until 12 noon
