Coventry social care children's services were represented at the recent Signs of Safety Gathering in Dublin, by Implementation Lead Robert Russell. It was a fantastic event with presentations from across the world. Robert was particularly impressed with the presentation from Cambodia (which was extremely humbling), alongside presentations from Canada and North Yorkshire. It was really good to see some practitioners from Coventry tuning into the live streaming. There was some excellent learning and networking opportunities which will be followed up by Robert, here in Coventry.

Signs of Safety training in Coventry is accelerating along at some pace. There have been extra two, one and half day sessions organised until early 2019. Staff from multi-agency children's services in Coventry are attending the training and offering positive feedback regarding the content and presenters. Big thank you to Jane Mousley for presenting a half day training event recently. 'Next steps' is to see Signs of Safety is being used effectively throughout Coventry multi-agency children's services, and making a difference. In the photo, Accredited Trainers Jo Woodfield and Kerry Oddy are delivering a two day training event in the council house for Head Teachers and other multi-agency colleagues. Please visit the LSCB if you wish to book onto training.

It's really pleasing to see Signs of Safety is being embraced by our partner agencies. Our colleagues in Health and Education have developed their own 'reports to child protection conference' using the three columns format. This development will support consistency during conferences, for children, families and professionals.

The Signs of Safety website is now up and running. You will notice there are a number of portals including links for training, Practice Leads, and useful links. Please can you send in some good examples of Signs of Safety practice which we can share and learn from. Below is the link to the webpage.

There have been some fabulous words and pictures work completed recently. Using this tool with children and families can be really powerful and effective in offering children an explanation as to what is happening for them. Pictured right is a super example of this which comes from Bharti and her team. Bharti and her team at the 'Families For All' Hub continue to be the leaders in practising and developing Signs of Safety here in Coventry. I would strongly recommend anyone wishing to observe excellent SofS practice, to contact Bharti and arrange a visit.
