Training opportunities

Understanding the new GDPR Regulations

20 March 2018 - 9.30 - 1pm

Due to the ERDF funding requirements, this workshop is only available to SME sized businesses located in Coventry and Warwickshire and forms part of the Coventry & Warwickshire Business Support Programme, part funded by the Coventry City Council and the European Regional Development Fund. (ERDF)

The event is aimed at SME business owners, directors, managers, health and safety and HR professionals who have a responsibility for data protection, either under the existing data protection act or going forward under the new regulations. No prior knowledge is required.

National Minimum Wage 

The government is increasing the National Minimum and National Living Wage rates on 1 Ap‌r‌il 2018. You can view the new rates on the GOV.UK and see if any changes need to be made. 

Sleep and Recovery Tool Kit

Business in the Community in partnership with Public Health England (PHE) have produced the first ever sleep and recovery toolkit.  The toolkit offers insight and advice on addressing the increasingly damaging sleep-loss epidemic affecting the nation. For further details

Fit In 50 

Fit In 50 is an office based exercise, wellbeing and nutritional initiative that started in January 2018 aimed at corporate responsibility to employees. The concept is to promote physical activity levels among individuals leading sedentary/office-based lifestyles.

So far, the initiative has been launched at Volvo Group UK as well as various NHS trusts.

March Cancer Awareness campaigns

  • Ovarian Cancer Awareness month

11 women die in the UK every day from ovarian cancer. Awareness of ovarian cancer is low, both among women and GPs, with two-thirds of women diagnosed once the cancer has already spread. Sign up today

  • Prostate Cancer Awareness Month 

Prostate cancer has now overtaken breast cancer to become the third biggest cancer killer in the UK, taking one man every 45 minutes.

So step up on a March for Men and help  raise the £120 million we need to create the better testing and treatments that will halve prostate cancer deaths by 2026.
