Trading
Standards is once again warning of cold callers offering to clean gutters
after another report, this time from the Finham area.
As happened in other areas of the City, a small contract for cleaning gutters progressed to an allegation that major
works on the main roof were required at a considerable cost.
This
male has been seen making approaches to people in the street to initially offer guttering
cleaning services.
Our advice as always is not to deal with cold callers as this is
a favoured approach used by rogue traders whose sole intention is to extract as
much money from residents as possible.
If you have any information that may help us track down these
unscrupulous cold callers or you wish to report any incidents involving a rogue
trader or doorstep crime, contact us on 03454 040506 or use our online reporting form.

collections being carried out around the Bannerbrook area of the City. The male claimed he was collecting on
behalf of MacMillan Cancer

badge, and their fundraising material should feature the charity’s name,
registered number and a landline contact number.

Trading Standards advice to residents is as always - do not give
out any personal information or bank details to any uninvited callers to your
door.

contact to make the necessary arrangements, or go via their webpage.
